  Set Your Own Ringtone: How Dare You!

You cannot easily, directly use your own sound file as a ringtone. To do that, see below steps yourself:

1. Download and install Zune utility form www.zune.net
2. Then connect your phone to your computer by using USB cable. Then open Zune in your computer
4. Select the sound file you want to use as a ringtone. The file must be in MP3 or WMA format and it should be 40 seconds long and the size should be less than 1MB.
5. Right click the file and select edit.
6. Type ‘ringtone’ in the genre field, or select it from the list.
7. Drag and drop the new ringtone to your phone.
8. On your phone, select > Settings and ringtones+sounds, then select your ringtone.

Black hole wakes up to snack on a massive planet

 

 

Astronomers have watched as a black hole woke up from a decades-long slumber to feed on a low-mass object - either a brown dwarf or a giant planet - that strayed too close. A similar feeding event, albeit on a gas cloud, will soon happen at the black hole at the centre of our Milky Way Galaxy. The discovery in galaxy NGC 4845, 47 million light-years away, was made by ESA’s Integral space observatory. The team was studying a galaxy 47 million light-years away when they noticed a bright X-ray flare coming from another location.

“When people listen to a piece of music they have never heard before, activity in one brain region can reliably and consistently predict whether they will like or buy it, this is the nucleus accumbens which is involved in forming expectations that may be rewarding,” says lead investigator Valorie Salimpoor, who conducted the research in Robert Zatorre’s lab. “What makes music so emotionally powerful is the creation of expectations. Activity in the nucleus accumbens is an indicator that expectations were met or surpassed, and in our study we found that the more activity we see in this brain area while people are listening to music, the more money they are willing to spend,” she added. Water and dust proof Sony Xperia Z tablet to come in mid April

The Water- resistant and dust-proof tablet from Sony, the Xperia Z will be coming soon to the stores. The estimated date for the availability is mid of April.
Announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2013, the tablet adds to the Xperia range of devices.  At the Mobile World Congress this year, Sony disclosed its launch plans for the tablet, indicating global availability in quarter 2 of the year. Xperiablog has reported that the “Sony Store website has three variants of the Xperia Tablet Z listed, although only the Wi-Fi models have prices”. (visit Sony's UK site here to place an order.) “The tablet should ship somewhere between April 12 and April 15” reported phonearena.
The Indian website currently shows that the tablet is yet to arrive in the country.
With this 10 inch tablet Sony brings Reality Display to an HD tablet. Powered with the less glare OptiContrast technology, which eliminates a layer of air in the construction of the tablet, this glass-like surface tablet offers less reflection and clearer viewing – even in bright sunlight.

 DIscovery could lead to “skinny” chocolate bars made with fruit juice instead of fat. have come up with a way to cut half the fat from the confectionery while retaining its “chocolatey” feel. The secret is juice in the form of micro-bubbles that preserve a texture that is firm to bite yet melts in the mouth. Lead researcher Dr Stefan Bon said, “We have established the chemistry that’s the starting point for healthier chocolate confectionery.

This approach maintains the things that make chocolate ‘chocolatey’, but with fruit juice instead of fat. Now we’re hoping the food industry will use the technology to make tasty, lower-fat chocolate bars and other candy.” The technology works with all kinds of chocolate — dark, milk and white, said Dr Bon. The Warwick team has made chocolate infused with apple, orange and cranberry juice.

 WHAT  IS Software

Sometimes abbreviated as S/W, Software is a collection of instructions that enables a user to interact with the computer or have the computer perform specific tasks for them. Without any software the computer would be useless. For example, you wouldn't be able to interact with the computer without a software operating system. Almost all software purchased at a retail store and online is included in a box similar to the one shown to the right, this box usually contains all the disks (floppy diskette, CD, DVD, or Blu-ray) required to install the program onto the computer, manuals, warranty, and other important documentation. In the picture to the right, is an example of what a Microsoft Excel software box would look like.

How to install a software program

 

 

 General Tips

• Make sure your computer meets the requirements of the program, game, or utility you are attempting to install.
• The manuals for the program or the readme file located in the same directory as the install commonly contain exact instructions on how to install a program.
• After installing or during the installation, a program may need to install other programs, files, or utilities before it is able to run. If this is the case, the program will commonly prompt you to install the program or you may need to run a separate install before the program can be fully used.
• When installing a program, utility, or game, it is always a good idea first to close or disable any other programs that are running.
• After installing a new program if it prompts you to reboot the computer, do it.

 Microsoft Windows users

Many software programs, games, and utilities have an AutoPlay feature that will automatically start the setup screen for the software program when the CD is placed in the computer. If your program, game, or utility contains this feature, run the installation through the screen that appears after inserting the disc.

If you are installing a program, game, or utility that does not contain this feature or you are installing a program from a floppy diskette, follow the below steps.

1. Open My Computer.
2. Within the My Computer window, open the drive that contains the installation files. For example, if the files are on a floppy diskette, open the A: drive. If they're on a CD or DVD open the D: drive or the letter of the disc drive.
3. Within the drive that contains your files, locate either a setup or install file. Double-clicking on this file should start the installation for the program, game, or utility. If you see multiple setups or install files, try to locate the Application file or double-click each of setup or install files until you find the file that starts the installation. Many times the icons associated with the installation files have the same name.

An alternate method of starting the installation in Microsoft Windows

1. Click Start and Run.
2. In the Run Window, type x:\setup or x:\install where x is the letter of the drive you wish to start the installation from. For example, if you are attempting to install a program from the floppy disk drive you would type a:\setup or a:\install. Usually with a CD or DVD it would be d:\setup but may be a different drive letter depending on your computer configuration.
